Things to do in Bundaberg
  1. No visit to Bundaberg is complete without a visit to the Rum Distillery. Guided tours will take you through all facets of the production process, allowing you to see what goes into the countries favourite spirit. Tours leave regularly and are very reasonably priced.
  2. Visit Australia's largest and most accessible turtle rookery at Mon Repos Beach, where green, flatback and loggerhead turtles nest. Between March and November you can take night tours of their nesting sites, and there is an information centre and rangers on site.
  3. The waterways of Bundaberg are stuffed full with large populations of fish, and a large diversity of fishing spots make fishing one of the favourite pastimes for locals and visitors. Baffle and Oyster Creek are perfect rivers to try your luck out in, and the fishing off the coast is also good.
  4. The Hinkler House Museum is dedicated to preserving the memory of the legendary aviator Bert Hinkler. The building is his actual home, which was transported over to Australia in pieces from the UK and reassembled over here. Enjoy discovering about Australia's most famous aviator.
  5. Coral Cove is the prettiest beach in the region, and is located just 15 minutes drive from the centre of Bundaberg. The calm bay is perfect for swimming and tanning, and snorkellors will be amazed at the colour and variety of marine life that call Coral Cove home.
